Hilltop Rising 2018 Sculpture – Andrew Lundberg
Andrew Lundberg is the owner and artist behind Lundberg Industrial Arts, located in Franklinton, Columbus, OH.
Andrew had a “regular” job as a concept designer when about 6 years ago he quit, packed all his stuff into an Airstream trailer, and moved to Franklinton. Though he now lives in an apartment, he works out of a silver Airstream trailer and a pole barn on a slip of land. He works mostly in wood and metal, specializing in what he calls “high-end commercial furniture.”
We loved Andrew’s concept design. Partly because it embraced our theme of “Hilltop Rising”, partly because he was ultra-local, partly because the open winged Phoenix invited interaction from the public, and partly because it was made with a mix of raw metals that brought forth the reminder of the long gone, major employer on the Hilltop – the Delphi GM manufacturing plant.
His Phoenix concept represents our “Hilltop Rising” theme because it’s born anew, out of the ashes, reaching for growth and economic renewal.
This permanent, public art sculpture is installed on the highest area of the Hilltop. (200 Georgesville Rd – Just south of the fountains in front of Hollywood Casino).
