Join Us!

There are lots of ways to get involved, from signing up for a single volunteer shift, to becoming a regular volunteer as a committee member or a board member. There are even opportunities to get involved without leaving your house! And for those who want to help but can’t give their time, financial contributions are certainly welcome too, and help us pay for more public art and more art-related activities on the Hilltop.

Event Volunteer

These are tied to specific events, such as our annual arts and music festival, and are often broken into shifts. We occasionally need volunteers for other activities throughout the year, and will post the application form as needed.

Committee Member

Committee positions focus on a larger project or function, and may be temporary, seasonal, or year-round – it depends on the committee. Meeting schedules vary, too – some will meet regularly for a limited duration, while others may only meet as needed. Examples of existing & planned committees:
  • Festival Planning: organizes, plans, and executes our annual arts & music festival (our largest committee)
  • Public Art: manages our major annual commission process as well as smaller commission projects throughout the year
  • Marketing/Outreach: manages our social media, marketing and outreach opportunities, and establishes a broader marketing plan
  • Fundraising: creates and executes fundraising strategies
  • Music: coordinates the “all call” process for festival bands, assists the board with the band selection process, and manages festival stage operations
Anyone interested in becoming a committee member is encouraged to apply EVEN IF the current openings don’t align with your interest or experience. There are additional opportunities to get involved even if we don’t yet have a formal committee set up.

Board Member

Board positions are year-round. Serving on the board does NOT mean a major workload – how much time you invest is based on your interests, availability, and how much time you WANT to give.
Board members are expected to:
  • Attend monthly board meetings (held the 2nd Wednesday of each month)
  • Sit on at least one committee
  • Attend relevant committee meetings (if applicable)
There are plenty of “nice to have” skills we welcome, but most importantly, we’re looking for individuals who are passionate about community, public art, and can effectively work independently or on a team. If you’re ready to contribute, please apply and we can discuss the best fit for you.
